I'm Maria, I'm 57 years old.
I offer my services as a carer or companion for elderly people who are not bedridden. I provide companionship, conversation, help with shopping, trips to the hairdresser, safety and organisation during outings and activities. As a carer, I take on a role focused on health, providing assistance such as visits to the doctor, physiotherapy, the pharmacy, undergoing tests, as well as daily needs, personal hygiene, meals and medication administration. I also provide night-time care.
I offer attention, understanding and respect, treating others as I would like to be treated myself. I have always been available to help, and I had the opportunity to do so during COVID when I went to the Alentejo to recover from surgery, where I was able to help the elderly people of the village. I believe I played an important role in the well-being and quality of life of these elderly people. Their children, due to their jobs, were unable to look after their relatives, so I had the privilege of being present in these people's lives. Gratitude
